The SMA Sunny Boy 3800TL-US features the world’s only Secure Power Supply, capable of providing up to 1,500 watts of power in the event of a grid outage. Because the Rapid Shutdown Box uses DC electricity from the array to power itself, it eliminates the need for external ACpower. This enables the SPS feature to function in the case of a grid outage – something third party solutions are unable to do.
